 etc.venues, the independent provider of training and meeting venues, has created a real-time meeting facility booking system as part of its new-look website.
Event organisers and planners can use the new system to view the etc.venues diary online and hold meeting space prior to confirmation.
The new booking facility is a reflection of etc.venues’ customer-focused ethos, and uses technology to enhance the customer service experience without overshadowing the personal touch. The company’s passion for their customers is clearly shown by their current number-one ranking in the BDRC Venue Verdict Survey, a position etc.venues has held since first joining the scheme late last year.
The new website also contains new video footage of each venue, excellent Google map facilities, and a user-friendly guide to the facilities available.
The booking system has already been embraced by meeting organisers. Several clients were online and using it within hours of the site going live and before any marketing or promotional work had taken place. Two of these were not previously customers and found the website and system through Google searches.
 ‘Until now the industry has been reticent to create such an online tool, citing the complex nature of meetings, particularly room layouts and additional services,’ says David Owen, etc.venues’ head of marketing. ‘Our clients were regularly asking us for such a tool and we wanted to provide it – and why not? If you can book flights and hotel rooms online, why not a meeting room?
‘We have always aimed to make the meeting process as simple as possible – our transparent costs and all-inclusive pricing are great examples – and this online facility is further evidence of this approach.’
Potential clients can visit the etc.venues website – www.etcvenues.co.uk – check availability across the whole portfolio of venues, select rooms based on their individual needs, and pencil the meeting in the diary. At that point all the facilities are reserved for the client, but not confirmed until a member of the etc.venues team calls to finalise details.
